Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Browsing: you can browse without an account. We don't use analytics, advertising cookies, or tracking pixels. Our hosting provider automatically keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) to run and secure the site.
• Your cart: the items in your cart are saved in your own browser's storage, not on our servers. It holds only the products, quantities, and the date it was last changed, and it clears itself after 30 days without changes. To check that items are still available, the site sends us only the product IDs.
• Orders: when you check out, payment is handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment details, and we never see or store your full card number. We receive your name, email address, shipping address, and the details of your order.
• Messages: if you email or call us, we receive your contact details and whatever you choose to share.

How we use your information

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

• To make, ship, and deliver your order, and to send you order and shipping updates.
• To answer your questions and handle problems such as defects or delivery issues.
• To keep records required for taxes, accounting, and preventing fraud.
• To keep the site running securely.

Who we share it with

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

• Stripe, to process payments.
• Knitwise, our production partner, which knits each item to order and ships it to you. They receive your name, shipping address, and order details. Items are produced and shipped from China, so this information is sent there.
• Shipping carriers chosen by Knitwise, to deliver your order.
• Google, which provides our email service.
• Railway, which hosts this website.
• Authorities, if we're legally required to share information.

International visitors

We're based in the United States, and the services above may process your information in the United States, China, or other countries, where data protection laws may differ from yours.

If you're in the European Union or United Kingdom, we use your information to fulfill our contract with you (your order), for our legitimate interests (customer service and site security), and to meet legal obligations (such as tax records). You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed for taxes and accounting, typically several years. We keep messages for as long as needed to help you. Your cart stays in your browser until you clear it or it expires after 30 days.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it, by emailing artforthismortalcoil@gmail.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time, and some records may need to be kept for legal reasons. You can clear your cart at any time by removing items or clearing your browser's storage for this site.

Children

This site isn't intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
